Ooit liep er een pad maar deze is in de loop van de jaren verdwenen. De route heeft een aansluiting op bestaande routes zoals het Terhorsterzand, Cramerpad en zuidwaarts richting Hoogeveen. Mede door een subsidie van het Recreatieschap Drenthe komt het fietspad tot stand. De totale kosten voor dit project zijn geraamd op 327.680,- waarvan de gemeente een bijdrage levert van 110.000,-.<strong>Start<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De verwachting is dat het fietspad langs het Linthorst Homankanaal eind 2007 gereed is.
