De opening is om 19.30 uur aan Kanaal OZ 3 te Wijster. Dit wandel- en fietspad is er gekomen in nauwe samenwerking tussen gemeente, Dorpsbelangen Wijster, Plaatselijk Belang Drijber en buurtvereniging Holthe, Lieving en Makkum. In het dorpsplan \u2018Essen in Perspectief\u2018 uit 2000 werd de wens geuit langs de oever van het 16 km lange Linthorst Homankanaal een wandel- en fietspad aan te leggen. De dorpen aan het kanaal &#8211; Holthe, Lieving, Makkum en Wijster en Drijber &#8211; vormden drie jaar geleden de werkgroep\u2018 Schelpenpadtie\u2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Enerzijds om de mogelijkheden voor een recreatief pad te verkennen, maar ook om zich te verdiepen in de historie van het kanaal.
